I have a wish list for May. It’s for both of us really because anything that interests her, makes her giggle or helps her be more independent is a gift for me too.
My list:
1. A toddler sized Bumbo seat so that May can continue to enjoy sitting as only she knows how.
2. A teether that stays in May’s mouth while she is sleeping.
3. May to sleep through the night (Yep. That’s right. We are back there again.)
4. Ieuan to sleep through the night. (It’s like my own small Hell here at the moment. Be it a very cute version of Hell.)
5. A holiday. Anywhere.
So, in part, an unlikely-to-be-achieved list. We can all dream. I even wrote to Bumbo at one point and asked them for a toddler sized seat, but alas they do not make them.
One free thing I did receive this week was a pack of flashcards from a friend who runs the company Who Loves Me? I sent her photos and she sent me back flashcards with members of May’s family on them. On the back, are short statements I wrote and read out to May so that the whole thing became a little story of my own creation. May enjoyed the colors and the little stories. My favorite card is of Ieuan and Grandpa together at The Original Pancake House for the first time. Lots of giggles when that came up. May LOVES the Pancake House thus proving she is a real Lewis. (Incidentally, Ieuan’s favorite card was also this one! Lots of smiles when I turned it over. He loves his Grandpa.)
So tell me… what’s on your wish list?
*Disclaimer: Though I received the cards for free, my opinion about them is my own. And, unlike the cards, the fun we had with them was not manufactured!

Happy birthday! Have you heard of the Childrite seat? It’s a bimbo seat for kiddos who need extra support, so it comes with a higher back and is larger. I don’t think it’s too expensive either, maybe $200? Look it up and see if it would work for May. I’ve thought about getting Seb one, but he uses all sort of seats, we have a seat2go which is great for floor time and also attaches to regular chairs for eating out. Because we do that so often! Ha. He mostly uses it at school and on road trips to see grandma. My wish list includes a holiday too. It has been so long since we went anywhere for fun, we just can’t afford it with everything else. We try to get out to s new area of the city every couple of weekends to quench our thirst for travel and exploration.
Kara I am so excited about the Childrite seat!!!
Ack! Bumbo. Not bimbo.
Hope all your wishes come true. I am glad May was laughing as Luean was screaming in the car. She likes her brother. More stimulation the better. I can’t imagine they don’t have some type of seat for kids who don’t have the muscle control to sit by themselves. Maybe a special medical supplies store.
Stacie, Happy Birthday again!!! I loved your post today! I hope you get your wishes….. Love, Ellen
Childrite Site is probably a good option. Take a look at the official website: http://www.childrite.com/childriteseat-info.html
Genius! You can not fathom how happy you have made my husband and I – not to mention May since she will be the beneficiary of it.
I found this site online and happens to be in the UK.

Darn! Someone beat me to the punch! I was going to recommend the childrite seat for you, too. Hope it works!
Also, as May grows, you may want to look at the “chill-out chair” for her. Some friends of ours have one, and they really like it. It sits in their living room as another piece of furniture and it looks cool and not so obviously “special-needs-y” (as my husband calls things that look like obvious adaptations.)

Happy birthday. It’s amazing what responses you get when you appeal for ideas on a blog.Hope they work out.May is such a happy little person. We have a litte boy who lives close to us and his parents get no response from him at all.It must be so hard.
Happy belated birthday! Hope you had a lovely day for it! Ah, a holiday – that would be amazing. My one trip is to Texas to help my sister with her newborn twins…so, a busman’s holiday! Still can’t wait though… 🙂
